only boring people get bored

As a kid I had a t-shirt that said “I have no life, my brother plays baseball.”
Watching a bunch of anxious preteens play a famously slow game in the sweltering Carolina heat wasn’t exactly six-year-old me’s idea of a good time. But whenever I complained, my mom repeated a phrase that’s even more t-shirt worthy:
“only boring people get bored.” With a book, a notebook and pen, and baseball moms to babble at, I started finding stories in the silence.
These days, I’m grateful for my time as a spectator on the North Carolina youth baseball circuit, and for my mom’s motto. They unlocked a lifelong love of language, a knack for all things imaginative, and a pathway to a career in copywriting.
Let me know if you know of anywhere I can find a shirt that says
“I discovered my life’s passion because my brother played baseball.”
That feels more accurate.
